Fencing at Harvest Raid

This year's tourney is called "A Little Bit of Everything" and it goes like this.

1. Fencers will be divided into pools of at least 5. Within the pool, fencers will face only 4 others from the pool.

2. The order of fights will be chosen by the MOL, and will go as follows: first fight is single rapier. Second is rapier and parry item. Third is rapier and dagger and fourth is case of rapier. If one does not have an authorization in parry or dagger, one may fight single, and if one is not authorized in case, one may fight either single or with a dagger. If one is authorized in a form, it must be used. (E.g. - Don Fully Authorized meets lady Just Started in the dagger round, and she can only fight single. He may not choose to fight single to match her.)

3. Each round will be three fights - not best of three, but three fights. Fighters get one point for each win. After two double kills, both fencers are awarded 0 points and move on to the next fight.

4. Fighters with the most points will move on to a single elim tourney which will be fought single for the first round, parry item for the second and dagger for the third.

5. Before the finals, the pools will be divided into two groups to be led by the finalists. These two groups will meet in a best two of three melee. The leader of the winning side will then get to choose the weapons form for the first round of the finals.

6. The finals will be best of 5, with the rounds being melee winner's choice, single, dagger, parry, and then case. (note the switch in order).

The tourney sign ups will start around 11 and end just before noon. The tourney will start at noon on the field by the covered pavilion. If the weather is poor, we will fight on the concrete underneath, so be prepared for that.

I will try to be out there early for warm ups, pick ups and (with the help of other marshals) authorizations. We will also have space in the field for other pick ups as people wish.

Please let me know if there are any questions or concerns. Hope to see many of you there! -- Dorinda

Feasting at Harvest Raid

I am posting the menu for Harvest Raid below. For the first year in many their will not be a pig roast.

There will be a "snack" offered at 5:00 in the main hall to children 17 & younger. We are hoping this will sustain them until feast. All "feastgear" for the snack will be provided but I would like a rough count as not everyone pre-regs if day tripping. Please email me a kid count and ages so that we can have enough.

Breakfast this year will be a simple one, please see below. If you would like to contribute something to our breakfast offering, that would be appreciated.

Thank you again to all and we look forward to seeing you.
